O rigor científico é a base dos procedimentos do Instituto do Hálito. Sugerem-se a seguir, artigos científicos, livros e outras publicações provenientes da temática da halitose.
Uma obra essencial que destacamos, pela elevada qualidade e clareza dos seus conteúdos, em língua portuguesa, é o livro escrito em português pela Professora Olinda Tárzia, pesquisadora do Departamento de Bioquímica da Universidade de São Paulo, intitulado “Halitose – Um desafio que tem cura” da Editora de Publicações Biomédicas, Brasil, 2003 .
